คณะอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลกรุงเทพ ตระหนักว่า สิ่งทอจัดเป็นอุตสาหกรรม ที่อยู่ในกลุ่มของปัจจัย 4 ของมนุษย์ และเป็นพื้นฐานของอุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่นซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในกลุ่มธุรกิจที่ได้รับการยอมรับว่า มีมูลค่าเพิ่มสูงที่สุดในโลก และที่สำคัญยังเป็นอุตสาหกรรมที่มีการวิจัยและพัฒนาทางเทคโนโลยีอยู่ตลอดเวลา
อุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอในวันนี้จึงไม่ได้ถูกจำกัดอยู่เพียงแต่เรื่องของเครื่องนุ่งห่มเท่านั้น แต่ผลผลิตจากอุตสาหกรรมนี้ได้กลายเป็นหนึ่งในวัตถุดิบของอุตสาหกรรมหนักอื่นๆอีกมากมาย เช่น อุตสาหกรรมรถยนต์ อุตสาหกรรมก่อสร้าง เป็นต้น
ดังนั้น คณะอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอจึงให้ความสำคัญและมุ่งมั่นพัฒนาหลักสูตร ตลอดจนทำงานวิจัยเพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ๆขึ้นอย่างไม่หยุดนิ่งเพื่อสร้างบัณฑิตที่มีทักษะความรู้ความสามารถในเชิงลึกและมีความชำนาญเฉพาะด้าน เข้าสู่อุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอและแฟชั่นอย่างต่อเนื่อง และที่นี่เรายังได้รับการยอมรับจาก องค์กรธุรกิจในภาคอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอเครื่องนุ่งห่มและแฟชั่นทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศว่า เป็นสถาบันการศึกษาที่มีรูปแบบหลักสูตรและจัดการเรียนการสอนเพื่อสร้างคนรุ่นใหม่เข้าสู่อุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่น ได้อย่างครบวงจรมากที่สุดตั้งแต่ต้นน้ำ กลางน้ำ ปลายน้ำ ของอุตสาหกรรม
เนื่องจากคณะอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอมีอุปกรณ์สื่อการสอน เครื่องมือระดับอุตสาหกรรม และห้องปฏิบัติการทางเทคนิค ที่ให้นักศึกษาสามารถฝึกฝนและฝึกปฏิบัติกับเครื่องมือที่ใช้อยู่ในภาคอุตสาหกรรมจริงที่สมบูรณ์ที่สุดในภูมิภาคเอเชียนักศึกษาที่เรียนในคณะอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอจึงมักจะได้รับการจองตัวจากภาคอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอตั้งแต่ยังไม่จบการศึกษาเสมอ

The Faculty of Textile Industry at Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep is well aware of importance of textile industry. Firstly, clothing is one of the basic needs of human beings. Secondly, the fashion industry has high value-added products which contribute to the national economy. Last but not least, technological research and development is an indispensable factor in the product development process.

Moreover, the textile industry is embedded in the national economies of particular countries in the same way as the automobile and construction industries are in other nations, etc.

For this reason, the Faculty of Textile Industry places emphasis on curriculum development and research and development with the aim of gaining new knowledge and to producing qualified graduates with a good knowledge of and expertise in the fashion and textile industry.

The Faculty of Textile Industry has been recognized by many local and international textile, clothing and fashion business enterprises because of its well-designed curriculum which ideally suits the environment of textile industry. Moreover, the learning and teaching process may help to develop the expertise of graduates.

The Faculty also offers teaching procedures and media, along with the facilities, equipment and the advanced technology required by the industry and to facilitate learning in the classroom environment and practice at the industrial and laboratory levels.
The students have good opportunities to practice and make the most of the facilities and give themselves a better chance to secure a job before graduation.
